The Courage of Sarah Palin PDF Print E-mail
The presidential race was suddenly energized when John McCain announced the name of his running mate, Sarah Palin. Since then the Democrats have unleashed an attack I can only hope will reveal the instablility of that party.

Ms. Palin has been attacked for having a Down Syndrome child...one blogger implied the right prenatal care might have prevented her child's circumstances. I have two DS children in my life - both of their mothers received the best prenatal care available. I wonder why these folks have chosen to spread lies instead of researching the truth about DS? Slandering a tiny baby demeans not the child or it's mother but the authors of this trash. It also reveals their desperation to beat the McCain/Palin ticket by whatever means available.

Another blogger accused her of lying about the baby to cover for her teenage daughter. Where do these vultures come up with these lies?

They're lying about her children to gain votes? I think voters are not only too smart for this tactic but I believe most are compassionate and unwilling to see children used as policital weapons. Today the Palin family announced their daughter is pregnant, keeping her child, and hopes to marry the baby's father. It's time for the press and bloggers trying to build a scandal to find something else to write about.

It seems the oppostion is determined to make themselves look bad. War protesters demanding peace started at least one fire and were prepared to do more damage today at the Repbulican Convention in Minneapolis. So far, 5 have been arrested and are proud of it. They intend to break as many laws as possible, endanger lives if need be, and destroy public/private property to get their message out. I'm not impressed - in fact I'm disgusted. Peaceful protest is one thing...their plan is to get attention drawn to themselves and deny the Republicans what was granted their party last week: the right to announce the nomination and acceptance of the party's candidate. Where is the class in this kind of attack? There is none.

Senator McCain is keeping watch as Gustav is causing in the South. He will most likely accept the nomination from afar and will miss the celebration. He'd rather stand with the hurricane victims.

Sarah Palin continues to serve Alaska with grace and dignity while under attack from the opposition. We are seeing her calm resolve and determined conviction. She has asked only that her children be given their privacy - a tradition usually granted the children of candidates. These liars would do the Democratic party more good if they stopped their attack on innocent children and started focusing on the issues.

I was fully behind Senator McCain before the announcement of Palin as his choice for Vice President. I was a voter. Now...because of the energy, strength, class and courage of Sarah Palin, I'm supporter.
